Haha, I remember Gametrailers' Race Driver GRID comparison, where they tried to make it seem as if the crashes were less impressive on the PS3 version.

You do realise that the first two games, which had Solid Snake, were multi-plat?
MGS3 didn't have the over the shoulder view, but it was the first to have a fully 3D camera (introduced in the expansion, Subsistence). Implementing it would be a bad idea, because they're not designed for it. Just look at The Twin Snakes, a remake of the original using MGS2's new gameplay mechanics. Some boss fights, like The Revolver Ocelot one, became piss easy due to the gameplay not being adjusted to accomodate the new mechanics.
If they do, I hope it's the expansion versions (So Substance with all the extra stuff instead of Sons Of Liberty, Subsistence instead of Snake Eater).

This basically explains how badly they fucked up Jaeger's history in PO. It's a shit game anyway, horrible controls, and dull environments, along with a lack of voice acting except in the grap...
That reminds me, they fucked up completely with Portable Ops, retconning the hell out of Gray Fox.
Despite my personal opinions regarding how stuff was wrapped up in MGS4, I'd prefer that Kojima set his next game (after Rising, if he does one) a few decades after the current storyline. Maybe reference the old characters, but keep it mainly new. They need to stop retconning the current story.
I have complete faith that they can keep the gameplay fresh, seeing as how pretty much every Metal Gear game in the main canon has each felt individually awesome to play.

They should've made a new IP considering the huge change in "stealth". Features like "last known position" were just gimmicky (I'm pretty sure it was in the older games, except it wasn't a marketing blurb, enemies just knew where they'd last seen you and the game didn't bring up a silhouette to point it out to you). Games can also be downloaded on PS3. Granted not all, but the number is slowly increasing, and it includes Mass Effect 2.
Heh, I've still got a 40GB one (had higher-priority purchases lately), and I can't wait to get a bigger one. Have to keep uninstalling and installing games. Wasn't a problem back in 2008-9, when the only games I had were GTA4, Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4, but now, the limitations are really starting to show.
It needs a disc? So do PC games (unless you pirate them, which I'm guessing is what you're admitting to). Anyway, the installations for MGS4 were worth it, annoying as they were. Such an amazing game, not on PC.
